Cambridge, UK / Gaithersburg, US / Wilmington, US / Gothenburg, SWE / Field Based
Competitive salary and benefits package
At AstraZeneca, we believe in the potential of our people and you’ll develop beyond what you thought possible. We make the most of your skills and passion by actively supporting you to see what you can achieve no matter where you start with us.
You may not feel you’re at the front line of developing medicines, but your role in changing patients’ lives is critical. Our mission is results-oriented and it takes the talents of a collaborative team to really deliver on what science can do and to always put patients first.
As a Talent Scout in our Enabling Functions primarily supporting Global Corporate Affairs (GCA), Global Project Portfolio Management (GPPM), and Legal your role will be akin to an in-house Head-hunter and you will work in partnership with the business as a trusted advisor to strategically develop and maintain business critical, senior-level external talent pipelines. You will also be conducting proactive, sophisticated searches for live executive vacancies and sharing insight into the talent market. Ideally, you will have worked within one or more of these areas or within executive recruitment.
You will build and maintain proactive and targeted talent pipelines that improve our ability to hire outstanding critical capability quickly and at a reduced cost of hire. Your efforts will be essential to enhance candidate experience and enable our internal hiring capability to be world-class.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition helps to deliver AstraZeneca’s results-oriented business strategy through recruiting extraordinary (internal and external) talent to meet the needs and demands of the business. To succeed as a Talent Scout, you will be a ‘recruiter at heart’ who has a passion and focus on the candidate experience.
Your background will demonstrate expertise as a head-hunter, executive recruiter or talent acquisition professional with a track record of building talent pipelines in highly technical skill-sets at a senior level and globally diverse locations.
Key Responsibilities include:
Execute the strategy to foster a rich external talent pipeline directly linked to key roles/critical skills in AstraZeneca. Ensuring successful conversion of talent pipeline prospects into active candidates and then hires.
Liaising with key stakeholders (HR Lead, business managers) and internal partners (i.e. Global Talent Acquisition Lead, Talent Management, HR Business Partners) to understand meaningful roles, important skills and the current population in order to assess risk areas where the talent pipeline would need growth to meet future global (1-3 year horizon) talent requirements.
Ensuring engaged talent is shared and visible across all relevant business units and geographies, and that senior-level prospects are reviewed at the Senior Executive Team level.
Building knowledge and providing insight into external talent presence (i.e. talent heat maps) to resolve the best approach to engage talent and steer workforce planning.
Create extensive internal and external networks through multiple channels, including attending relevant global external meetings/conferences to meet and assess talent.
The role will report into the Scout Team Lead, Enabling, IT, & Procurement with a positive relationship with the Global Talent Acquisition Lead for the Enabling Functions. This is an opportunity to work at the most senior levels in the organization, to further engage, encourage, persuade and influence our transformation to a ground-breaking in-house Talent Acquisition Function.
Requirements:
Significant experience as an Internal Executive Recruiter/Talent Scout or Head-Hunter/Senior Researcher/Consultant
Demonstrable experience and ability to cultivate a talent network within relevant commercial pharmaceutical communities
