Oncology Data Science Platforms

The Oncology Data Science – Data, Analytics, and AI Platforms (ODSP) team comprise multiple groups across the Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, and Munich DE sites. ODSP develops technology, software, and data infrastructure to advance our Oncology data science. Our vision is to evolve data science into a driver of innovation within Oncology. We do this by creating a strategic culture that values our data as a true business asset, organizing our data so that it’s accessible and easy to find, integrated, and re-usable for Humans & AI, and building the best data computational tools to support scientific decision making.

What you’ll do

You will focus on developing web application for cutting edge image analysis software, drive automation and define workflow standards by supporting the drug project teams impacting AZ drug pipelines. To do this you will:

• Develop high quality, scalable, robust, and well tested web applications.

• Work in a multi-disciplinary set up spanning pathology, bioinformatics and translational medicine to understand their scientific and technical challenges and proactively impact these.

• Develop infrastructure to apply statistical, analytical, ML and AI methodologies to large image datasets.

• Design state of the art architectures

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential for the role:

• Relevant M. Sc, or equivalent graduate degree

• Web frontend and backend

• Multiple programming languages, including JavaScript (Typescript, NodeJS)

• Databases (SQL and No-SQL)

• Unix

• Best practices in software development methodologies

• Experience of cloud technologies (AWS preferred).

Desirable for the role:

• Understanding or background on image processing

• Kubernetes

• Experience in regulatory environments
