Hey! You must be looking for a new role in recruitment, if not, you’re probably on the wrong advert but take a peek at our other vacancies because we definitely want you. www.aster.co.uk/careers
Anyway, recruitment is recruitment, you know the drill, source great candidates, support the business with their requirements and advert writing, give a great candidate experience. But with us, you get to help shape how we recruit at Aster as we continuously evolve our service to attract the best, diverse talent there is.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be doing all the good stuff to help the business find the best candidates for their roles including taking full job briefings, advising how to advertise and writing a pretty appealing advert to get candidates hooked and make them apply. We have an ATS, we use Networx, and you’ll become a dab-hand at using the system and training leaders on how to use it.
We are on a journey transforming the way we recruit as we move to a proactive sourcing service where we are going to be introducing new talent attraction strategies which you’ll pilot and support the delivery of so you’ll know your way around candidate databases and be confident in selling the vision of roles to attract candidates to us.
This role also includes activities such as partnering with our agency provider, leading on talent acquisition and people projects, coaching and training leaders on recruitment best practice.
No two days are the same, but recruitment also doesn’t stop. It’s fast paced at times, always varied but there’s a team of us who roll our sleeves up and support when needed. We, as a team, look after attraction, recruitment, onboarding, induction and probation so there’s plenty to do and get involved with. You’ll also be working closely with our Strategic Business Partners to really get underneath what each business area needs and working out how we can meet those requirements.
The location of the role is flexible, it’s not new news but still great to know, so you can work from home, the coffee shop, wherever is best for you; but you will be required to attend meetings, team collaboration time and events across our operating regions in person as the business needs. The talent acquisition team are based across Andover, Wiltshire & Weymouth (yes, trips to the seaside!) and have an in-person work together day once every 6 weeks or so.
About you
You’ll have experience working in an in-house recruitment role with experience working with candidate databases and social media and will hold your CIPD Level 5 qualification or be working towards this. You’ll also bring with you your knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of safe and compliant recruitment processes and be able to apply your knowledge of employment law to your role.
You’ll understand the importance of customer service and know that working in a complex, business environment means juggling fluctuating workloads and priorities to meet the needs of our customers. You’ll know recruitment is busy so you’ll be comfortable with a fast-paced role and be able to keep on top of your to-do lists.
You’ll be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels as you’ll be recruiting for everything from our front-line roles, head office roles and right through to senior appointments. You’ll be able to challenge effectively to ensure we are taking the right approach and will work collaboratively with the reward & recognition team on our approach to advertising.
You’ll work as part of the wider people hub so you’ll be happy supporting other teams where required and will work on a variety of people related projects.
You’ll need a full, UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. Most importantly, you’ll be open to new ways of working and happy to contribute new ideas of how we can be more effective and efficient if you see improvements can be made.
What’s in it for me
We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:
