Astec Designs is a fast growing ecommerce startup that designs, markets, produces, and fulfills orders for various customizable silicone products, including Siligrams ice trays and May & Lou dog biscuit molds. These goods are produced in-house through a novel, technology-driven manufacturing process of our own design. After just two years in business, we have grown to over 30 employees, were recently featured on NBC’s Today Show, and have produced molds for the likes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Ebay, and the Atlanta Falcons. POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Operations Manager oversees the daily workings of manufacturing operations. Leads the production team to plan, manage, and implement manufacturing and fulfillment schedules to ensure customer requirements and revenue plans are safely met. Communicates effectively with production staff and ownership alike and maintains the highest standard for safety, quality, and timeliness.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Directs the entire manufacturing operation to ensure correct, accurate, and timely completion of production and delivery schedules.
• Foster collaboration and proactive communication among departments to ensure production goals are met.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements in processes and systems to enhance team performance.
• Lead the implementation of projects designed to improve production and coordinate leaders of each production department to ensure smooth transitions as workflows and technologies change.
• Manage the inventory levels to ensure supply continuity at a minimal cost.
• Institute and maintain efficient and safe work practice procedures and facilities.
• Keep abreast of safety requirements and new developments in order to maintain an injury free, highly efficient production operation.
• Plan, schedule, and review workload and manpower to ensure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis.
• Interview and hire new production assistants and leaders to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Improve the abilities, skills, and knowledge of production personnel through appropriate instruction and training.
• Analyze, resolve or escalate problems to ensure minimum interruption to work.
• Provide coaching and support to team members while ensuring a culture of accountability.
• Coordinate, supervise, and guide team activities to meet daily / weekly / monthly performance targets and schedules.
• Ensure critical equipment and systems are maintained, inspected and tested such that technical integrity is always assured.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in management or technical discipline preferred
• 5+ years prior leadership experience required
• 3 years prior experience in a production / manufacturing environment
• Positive and effective communication and collaboration skills with emphasis on emotional intelligence.
• High energy and highly motivated with strong customer focus.
• Highly analytical and a strong problem solver
• Able to leverage data to inform decision making in an adaptive and effective manner
• Highly flexible and agile and able to quickly pivot as needed to make the highest impact possible
• Spanish/portuguese speaking is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
