Assystem is proud to work in partnership with one of the UK’s most prestigious nuclear defence manufacturing companies by providing talented temporary resource needed to deliver complex engineering projects.

Assystem are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on our customers site in Derby on a contract basis.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of component design definition artefacts i.e. documents, models, definitions that meet system level and sub-system requirements.

This is an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a high performing team on a fast paced and interesting project. They will be working within the Mechanical, Civil, Structural and Architectural Group and will be required to assist Section leads

Role Details:

Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Raynesway, Derby

Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: 6 months
Contract type: PAYE via Umbrella

Key Accountabilities

• Updating technical reports to reflect latest design and/or substantiation information
• Responding to technical queries
• Authoring and checking mechanical calculations
• Checking engineering drawings
• Assisting response to Regulator Queries

Qualifications and skills required:

• Proven reputation for expedient delivery of challenging technical tasks
• Experience in technical report writing
• Experience in answering Technical Queries
• Experience in producing calculations in MathCad
• Experience in use of Teamcentre for controlling and viewing design definitions
• Unigraphics NX CAD modelling experience (desirable)
