As the Lift Operator, you will operate and maintain assigned equipment (primarily industrial forklifts (30,000-50,000 lbs), man lifts, loaders) on/ in the terminal, and warehouse performing tasks as required while keeping an accurate log and assisting the crew with other duties. Rotational shift work is required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment (primarily forklifts, man lifts, loaders) in areas such as the dock, open storage yards and warehouse
• Ensures the maintenance of all assigned equipment including performing pre-job inspections and periodic maintenance
• Acts as signal man for other lift drivers, and shore crane operators
• Assists in deck and warehouse operations when necessary
• Complete daily inspection s and forwards to maintenance as needed
• Responsible for conducting quality inspections of various cargoes
• Responsible for recording production information and documenting materials
• Trans load cargo to and from truck/rail/vessel/barge by marks and count
• ALL incidents through the company’s ing protocol
• Support company safety initiatives
• Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies
• Perform other duties as required

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school or equivalent (preferred)

SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a similar position in an industrial setting (preferred)
• Working experience in cargo transportation (preferred)
• Ability to safely operate assigned equipment
• Ability to operate heavy equipment within a confined space
• Thorough knowledge of warehousing operation and maintenance programs
• Proficiency, and accuracy in clerical skills and record keeping
• Thorough knowledge of personnel safety programs
• Proficiency in equipment and deck operations
• Be physically fit to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely
• Demonstrated safe work practices, history, and leadership ability
• Advocate of team concept
• Commitment to customer service
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Must comply with all operational directives and company policies

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain. Will work at different elevations, noise levels will be moderate-high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools.
