We are currently hiring for a full-time Electrician, with an Industrial Electrician or an Electrician, Construction or Maintenance license, to provide maintenance support at our Burlington Manufacturing plant.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate must have solid electrical and mechanical aptitude with manufacturing experience. Other skills required include experience with PLCs, computer based programming, DC motors, pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics, compounding, plastic extrusion and grinding equipment.

Primary Duties for the position include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance of electrical equipment, repair of electrical/ mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment with minimum interruption to production
• Inspect, repair, assemble, install, adjust and do preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Ensure regular Preventative Maintenance checks on all electrical equipment
• Work within a team to provide support for the production line to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns
• Move/align machinery and equipment
• Though knowledge of control wiring methods, 24vdc and 120vac
• Understanding of PLCs, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Follow acts, regulations, and codes related to facilities, equipment, environment protection, and Health and Safety at all times
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Communicate with Supervisor(s) on safety or process related issues.
• Responsible for 5S activities which includes maintenance shop, personnel tools, and organization of spare parts inventory
• MUST possess a valid Ontario or Inter-Provincial (442A/309A/Red Seal) Electrician Certificate of Qualification with a minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proof of completion of Ontario Apprenticeship
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70E, CSA Z462 and LOTO
• Available to work 8 hour day shift but must also be available to work rotating days, nights, and afternoons and overtime as needed
• Familiar with and able to read electrical schematics
• Be able to work quickly under pressure and have a sense of urgency
• Standard inventory of Electrical and mechanical tools
• Have the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Have strong organizational skills, detail oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize
• Dual ticket or background in Controls a strong asset

We offer a starting wage of $37.80/hour (increasing to $38.80/hr after 9 months) plus shift premiums and a competitive benefit program with 100% company paid premiums and pension plan with 100% employer contributions.
