About this opportunity*
We currently have an opening for a Process Engineer based out of one of our Ontario locations – Markham, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Kitchener, or Ottawa – and will collaborate with staff and deliver projects across Ontario and Canada. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience.

This position will provide you with the opportunities for advancement and career growth. Responsibilities include the following:

• Assisting and leading engineering activities for a wide variety of water and wastewater projects at the study phase into engineering design and through construction.
• Assisting and leading aspects of planning, environmental assessments, operations review, treatability studies, engineering design, equipment sizing and selection, cost estimation, technical specification preparation, contract document preparation, contract administration support, as well as providing construction and commissioning support.
• Conducting discipline inspections onsite to confirm condition, measurements, and that the installation meets design intent.
• Delivering projects and tasks on budget and within identified schedules.
• Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.
• Providing support to other members of the team.
• Complying and working within COR certified environment and performing all duties in accordance with those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation.

Job Requirements: *
About You*

• Minimum completion of Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution, with a specialization in water treatment and/or water resource recovery.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer, with PEO.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in an engineering design, contract administration, construction engineering support, and project management support role.
• Interest in pursuing a career in water treatment/water resource recovery engineering design and project management / support.
• Previous experience working for a consulting engineering firm, is an asset.
• Experience in water/wastewater treatment facility design including:
• Experience with various unit treatment process technologies including design, construction, and commissioning.
• Experience with planning, environmental assessments, operations review, treatability studies, process evaluation, process optimization, hydraulics calculations, equipment sizing and selection, cost estimation, technical specification preparation, and contract documentation preparation.
• Experience with BioWin and other treatment process software tools, is an asset.

• Experience with multi-discipline design project management and design coordination support.
• Experience with contract administration and construction engineering support including on-site inspection, commissioning, and training.
• Experience with marketing and business development initiatives including proposal preparation.
• Prior involvement within various water/wastewater associations.
• Proficiency in the use of Autodesk, Revit, and MS Office suite of products.
• Ability to lead CAD production and direct/coordinate CAD staff with respect to applicable CAD standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including use of email and videoconferencing technologies.
• Excellent leadership skills, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Committed team player.
• Valid driver’s license & ability to travel within Canada, as necessary.
