About The Position
Joseph’s Classic Market Seafood Associates support a department known for cleanliness, knowledge, and premium products. By assisting customers and maintaining fresh, well-presented displays, this role helps customers feel confident about what they bring home. As a Seafood Associate, you’ll gain hands-on experience, expand your knowledge of seafood products, handling, and preparation, and develop valuable skills that can open the door to future opportunities within the Seafood department and beyond. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and reading skills
- Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- A passion for serving people
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in seafood, grocery, or food service is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
- Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
- Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
- Package, label, and price self-service items accurately
- Cut and prepare seafood products according to company standards
- Clean and maintain scales, cutting areas, and prep stations
- Operate department equipment including knives, steamers, and scales safely and efficiently
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
