Department Overview:

The Australian Structured Finance (SF) and Covered Bonds (CVB) team is currently a team of 12 analysts covering all asset classes in Australian and New Zealand SF and CVB.

Job Responsibilities:

• To rate structured finance transactions, as a lead analyst, in an accurate and timely manner;
• Strong credit focus, ability to think broadly and apply solid credit principles as well as Fitch criteria to existing and new issuers/asset classes;
• Ability to run, interpret and amend excel models, check other analyst’s model runs for accuracy and reasonableness;
• Interpret legal documentation;
• Manage the operational aspects of the team and coordinate the work of other analysts and drive the meeting of deadlines;
• Write research – both transaction-specific and market-wide;
• Manage queries and communicate effectively with external transaction parties;
• Manage the completion of Adhoc projects and issues and ensure timely completion;
• Mentor junior analysts;
• Speak at external/internal conferences.

Experience Required:

• Experienced structured finance professional with 6- 8 years’ experience.
• Candidates from the Credit Rating Agency background would be preferred.
• Previous credit experience a plus.
• Previous management experience desirable with the ability to mentor junior analysts.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Business/finance/commerce/mathematics degree qualified
• Strong quantitative and excel skills
• Must be a critical thinker and an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to present, explain ideas and analysis succinctly and effectively and to explain complex concepts simply
• Attention to detail is a must as well as being able to view the big picture
• The organisation, time management and project management skills – ability to juggle and prioritise many competing deadlines – both internal and external
• Initiate and drive deadlines with minimum supervision
• Enjoy working as part of a team as well as individually
