Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager – Finance for the Project Management Office (PMO) organization will partner closely with the PMO leader and Executive team to establish project priorities, resource planning, project costing for future projects as well as manage the priorities of the current projects within the organization on an ongoing basis. Annually, AssetMark spends $35-$40 million (7% of revenue) on capital projects, primarily focused on expanding the capabilities of its technology platform, a key pillar of its advisor product offering. Approximately 70% of the capital spend comprises internally developed software. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring financial and human resources are deployed in a cost/process efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for partnering with the PMO leader, Finance and Executive Leaders to establish annual project priorities
• Partner with program leaders and cost center managers to establish resources required to complete established project initiatives (consisting of internal capitalization, contractor resources & 3rd party spend)
• Lead budgetary resource planning initiative for projects. As projects are built simultaneously with developers often working on multiple projects, planning for resources is critical.
• Liaison between Finance, PMO and business to communicate proper accounting for projects (determination of capital versus expense).
• Own the annual Op plan process for PMO spend and aggregate capital spend of company.
• Provide transparent reporting over Capital projects (i.e. Actual to budget, Completion of initiatives to commitments, etc.)
• Complete a thorough review of PMO systems used today and provide recommendations for systematic process enhancements
• Cost Benefit analyses for Projects/Initiatives as well as ongoing re-measurement of Actuals to Plan
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned such as ad-hoc reporting, modeling, and analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
• 3+years’ experience as an PM professional with significant finance operations experience
• Exceptional leadership, relationship, problem-solving, organization, and planning skills, with a proactive and logical approach to challenges
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Knowledge of enterprise software/financial systems (e.g. Workday Adaptive Planning, NetSuite) preferred but not required
• PMI certification or related project management course work required strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to influence across the organization
• Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
