We have an exciting opportunity for a Computer Science degree graduate with experience of studying software engineering to join our graduate program in the role of Graduate Software Engineer.

What would you do as our Graduate Software Developer?

Your journey will start by joining our graduate program, as part of an intake cohort of graduates across ASSA ABLOY group companies. You will be contributing on real-world software projects that are being used by our customers. After 6 months, you’ll undertake a 3-month international secondment, giving you learning insights across our organization, then returning to your ‘home’ business area for a final 9-month placement putting into practice the skills and experience you’ve acquired along the way.

You will need no commercial development experience but should have a strong technical background and a strong appetite for learning new things! The heart of the Software Engineer role is to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to your team’s ability to deliver working software.

A Graduate Software Engineer will focus on acquiring the technical knowledge necessary to deliver commercial products, and the collaborative skills necessary to work in our Agile environment.

To support with your learning journey, you will be assigned a technical mentor to work with you and give you the right level of support and guidance along the way.

You would also:

• Develop working software that delights our customers.
• Participate in peer review, submitting your code, and offering comments on the reviews of others to the best of your ability.
• Work closely with your team to minimise work in progress, resolve problems, and deliver value.
• Participate in planning and retrospective meetings, asking appropriate questions, and suggesting ways we can improve our process.
• Collaborating with our product owners to ensure features deliver maximum value.

The skills and experience you need

• Graduate of a Computer Science Degree.
• A keen interest in Information Technology.
