Job Overview:
This position is responsible for quality and integrity of all Patient Access processes and staff in all areas of Aspen Valley Hospital District. This may include, but is not limited to, multiple functions related to the entire patient encounter, daily monitoring, running and compiling EPIC s, review and ing of specific industry standard criteria, and complete accuracy of patient data collection. This position is aware of and ensures good practice with all Patient Access Compliance criteria related to the positions within the department. This position s to the Patient Access Director and conducts audits of patient accounts ensuring that each item is accurate and complete including demographic information, supports staff in front end cash collections activities, provides routine education on patient access processes with focus on improvement. This position works with all AVH Departments, including Therapy Services, Primary Care Clinics, and Specialty Clinics to provide oversight, feedback, and continuing education on Patient Access processes, including but not limited to obtaining complete and accurate patient demographic, billing information (including ABN’s and insurance authorizations, insurance waivers, Preauthorization’s) providing streamlined customer service between Scheduling, Pre-certification, Registration, Billing and other hospital departments, and triaging/resolving staff issues and questions regarding work queues, RTE, and patient access workflows. Coordinates and monitors training of new staff in the hospital and clinics with regards to patient access functions. Coordinates, delivers, and tracks ongoing patient access education to the staff in all patient access areas. Work as a liaison to billing for corrections needed for insurance for proper billing and reimbursement and using this information to provide training to reduce errors and denials as a result of patient access processes.

Pay range for new hires: $28.23 – $36.70/hr
