Job Overview:

Reporting directly to the CEO of Aspen Valley Hospital, and the Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation (AVHF) Board, the CDO will provide direction for and leadership of all aspects of AVH fundraising activities. The CDO provides expert consultation to the AVHF Board and the AVH CEO, and directs the activities of the AVH Foundation Office toward the attainment of established fundraising goals and adherence to applicable strategies, budgets, policies and procedures.

Primary Scope of Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and monitor fundraising campaigns and goals as approved by the AVHF board and the AVH CEO
• Accountable to the AVHF board chair and members to assure compliance with all applicable bylaws, and board established policies and procedures, including seeking board approvals where necessary, reporting of Foundation revenues and expenses in accordance with budgets and targets, and supporting board initiatives for fundraising.
• Manage a comprehensive donor database of past and potential donors, maintain frequent and compelling communications, and provide timely and effective recognition
• Maintain a donor portfolio of high-net-worth donors with specific objectives for each
• Accountable to AVH CEO to manage operations of the Foundation office, including recruitment, management and evaluation of staff, oversight of contractors, development of and adherence to departmental operational and capital budgets, development and maintenance of all policies and procedures, and assurance of compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Demonstrates purposeful service excellence through exceeding donor, patient and coworker expectations.
• Represents the department/hospital as a dedicated, courteous, and responsive employee
• Records pertinent documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and hospital policy.
• Adheres to federal, state and hospital rules and regulations including HIPAA privacy and security, and all other applicable reporting and compliance requirements
• Follows Hospital compliance plan and policies, including the Code of Conduct.
• Participates in required training for positional activities, including HIPAA, Compliance, Patient Safety, TJC, Emergency Management, etc.
• Supports the AVH CEO and AVHF Board by cultivating meaningful relationships with key donors in terms of stewardship, retention and raising sights.
• Manages day-to-day staffing needs, including training, setting goals, and continued communication and evaluation
• Manages the AVHF board, in cooperation with the AVHF board chair, to support board development, including communications, meetings, education, board appointments, and recruitment and evaluation
• Manages and evaluates Foundation consultants, vendors, direct contractors, and out-sourced providers to assure performance of contractual obligations and the cost-effective delivery of essential services.
• Conceives of and successfully executes fund-raising and donor-cultivations events as necessary to support the strategies and objectives of the Foundation.
• Prepares, submits and monitors donor funding requests, grant applications, and other solicitations to public and private philanthropic organizations and agencies.
• Creates and promotes planned giving, bequeaths, trust giving, annuities, donor advised funding, and other legal instruments to promote fund development.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional decision making and professional growth.
• Demonstrates professional acumen and level of sophistication necessary to garner confidence from donors and philanthropic entities.
• Participates and contributes to departmental meetings and activities.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising field required
• Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail
• Relatively high degree of analytical abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills required
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

Benefits & Compensation:

Hire-in rates of pay are based upon the relevance of years of experience, education and certifications. Our talent acquisition team will help you understand how your direct experience will be considered.

Pay range for new hires between $210,000 – $273,000 annual salary.
