Senior Finance Analyst – Group & Technical Accounting

The Group Accounting team are responsible for the production of the monthly Group consolidation, Group and statutory financial statements and collation of notes in the Annual Report and Interim Results, ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards. The team are responsible for wider accounting control and governance including monitoring and understanding changes in IFRS, FRC and Corp Governance. Working in a business partnering capacity with Trading Finance, Ops Finance, FP&A, Treasury and Tax the team help to drive forward the continuous improvement of month end close processes and leading on technical accounting matters. The role is an integral part of the Group Accounting team ensuring delivery of our goals and purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Production of the monthly Group consolidation, P&L, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows
• Working closely with the Group – Senior Finance Manager, provide accounting guidance to wider finance teams including preparation of accounting papers for the auditors and Finance Director
• Responsible for the consolidation of the Group financial statements and notes in the Annual Report and Interim Results, ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards
• Ownership of the production of the subsidiary statutory accounts
• Management of the relationship with the external auditors, ensuring the timely delivery of deliverables by the wider finance team
• Act in a business partnering capacity with Trading Finance, Ops Finance, FP&A, Treasury and Tax to drive forward the continuous improvement of month end close processes and supporting with technical accounting matters
• Compilation and submission of industry surveys as required e.g. ONS submissions

We’d love to meet someone with…

• An accounting qualification (preferably ACA or equivalent)
• 1+ years’ PQE in a similar role
• Solid understanding of IFRS and FRS 101
• A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Strong attention to detail
• Proactiveness in the organisation of own work and to take initiative
• An ability to determine insightful observations
• Good communication/ interpersonal and influencing skills
