Logistic Specialist Job Summary

As a Logistics Specialist at ASM, you will plan and manage logistics, transportation, and customer services for a variety of customers. You will manage all aspects of the order from creation to completion. Being in such a crucial role in a small company offers a unique experience to see the many stages an order goes through. You can be the point of contact for a customer from start to finish and offer excellent customer service because you will know every detail of their order. This role will be a remote or hybrid position on the 2nd shift (working 5:00pm- 1:00am) and would to the Logistics Manager within our operations department.

Logistic Specialist Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for facilitating an efficient transportation process by maximizing deliveries and simplifying the shipping process.
• Interacts with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
• Handle strong customer call volume, intensive use of phone and email, along with various software to coordinate trucks and available loads.
• Adheres to strict deadlines to meet customer needs.
• Update load boards and clear broker carriers.
• Assist Truck drivers/ dispatchers with problem resolution.
• Creating driver paperwork as needed for drivers loads.
• Creating, scheduling, and monitoring all shipments load pick-up and delivery appointments.
• Working closely with our shippers, receivers, and drivers.
• Negotiating rates with carriers.
• Other projects or duties as assigned by the Management Team.

Logistic Specialist Required Experience and Education

• Minimum of 2 years freight dispatch and/ or the Transportation Industry is preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Logistics or similar field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office products
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Organized and dependable work habits with flexibility to assist as needed in all areas of the office.
• Strong organizational skills
• Must have experience finding loads and developing new customers.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proven skills in organizational direction, time management, goal setting and interpersonal relations.
• Managing/utilizing multiple systems including dispatch software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Pay: $44,857.00 – $50,277.00 per year
