To work closely with the director, treasurer, chair and trustees to ensure effective financial records are maintained in relation to the work of the Asian Women’s Resource Centre. Produce budgets, quarterly reports/management accounts, cash flow and advise the director on issues relating to the finances of the AWRC.
1.0 Main duties/purpose of the post:
– Draft the annual Budget (in liaison with the director and board of trustees).
– Prepare budgets for the various projects run by the Asian Women’s Resource Centre, for example, Ending Harmful Practices, Ascent and Big lottery
– Prepare quarterly and yearly accounts management accounts and update the director on a regular basis.
– Attend the Asian Women’s Resource Centre monthly board meetings and update on the financial situation, presenting budgets and quarterly reports.
– To maintain spreadsheets of income and expenditure (including petty cash) on the AWRC XERO accounting package.
– To prepare monthly bank reconciliation (on XERO)
– To ensure that monthly tax and NI payments are made to the Inland Revenue on time.
– To liaise with the bank in the event of any queries or to transfer funds between accounts (subject to director and board approval).
– To keep the board informed of any issues/problems relating to finances.
– To arrange the annual audit with the Asian Women’s Resource Centre auditors and address and action any outstanding queries or management points
– To look into any funding opportunities on behalf of the Asian Women’s Resource Centre and assist the director in writing bids.
– To provide fundraising support – particularly around budgets for application forms submitted by the Asian Women’s Resource Centre.
– To ensure that XERO is maintained and updated.
– At all times work within the framework of the AWRC staff handbook on policies and procedures which include: Financial procedures: Equal opportunities, health and safety and confidentiality.
– Assist with tasks designated by the director
– Be flexible to the needs of the organisation and provide financial support where required
