The successful candidate will have the opportunity of working within the council’s Finance Department and undertake a range of learning experiences, through work experience, study, training and development, in order to complete an agreed level 7 apprenticeship qualification through CIMA/ACCA.
Essentially you will support the finance team in ensuring that the council maintains proper accounting records that fully comply with statutory and professional requirements along with:
Assisting in the preparation of monthly budget monitoring information and provide quarterly comments for the Budget monitoring report.
Assisting Officers in building our budgets and learning to progress and lead in own Budget Area.
Leading on project work with the support of your manager and other team members.
It is essential that you have a good standard of education with GCSE Maths and English as a minimum.
20% of your working time is given to you for study – It is essential that you are committed to personal development and a willingness to work hard as we will support you through Apprenticeship Level 7 Accountancy and Taxation Professional Module.
