Our client, a LEED Gold certified Commercial Real Estate company focused on sustainable, eco-friendly practices is expanding in the San Francisco Bay Area, needs a Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist for their Property Management team.

Job Description – With excellent organizational skills, the primary responsibility of the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist will be to assist the Accounting team to ensure the proper and accurate entry and coding of accounting related transactions, invoices, expense reports, etc. The successful Accounts Payable/Accounts ReceivableSpecialist will be highly proficient in coding invoices to multiple cost centers conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system. Strong internal and external facing communication skills is required to understand purchases, invoices and payments for proper allocation and reporting. Additional responsibilities for the Accounts Payable/Accounts ReceivableSpecialist include the following:

Responsibilities Include:

• Code such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc. with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system
• Handle all vendor correspondence via phone or email
• Prepare non-inventory purchase order requisitions.
• Attach the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
• Make copies of all checks, complete deposit slips, make bank deposits and prepare and post invoices and credit and debit memos
• Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
• Prepare customer statements, bills and invoices, and reconcile expenses to the general ledger
• Assist with the processing of month end accruals for monthly financial reports, and monthly closings.
• Calculate and post receipts to appropriate general ledger accounts and verify details of transactions, such as funds received and total account balances
• Reconcile various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
• Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
• Work with collections personnel to verify status of delinquent accounts and solicit payments on overdue accounts

Position Requirements

• 3 – 4 years accounts payable and accounts receivable or general accounting experience
• 10-key by touch
• Familiarity with accounting programs and software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented, ability to multi-task
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
