Job Summary

Ascend Clinical is seeking a hands-on (coding) Software Architect, who is a technology leader and will design robust, high quality software systems, support software engineering teams and help drive mission-critical technology initiatives. The position will create a clear roadmap for each application and how the business processes and related data model integrate smoothly across all applications.

Essential Functions:

The successful applicant will be able to perform the following essential functions at minimum:

• Provide technical leadership to software engineering team to define scalable, reusable and secure enterprise software architectures.
• Lead code reviews, design reviews, architecture discussions.
• Define rationale for architectural decisions and ensure architectural congruence across all applications.
• Review existing software applications to determine if restructuring is needed to improve quality, maintainability, reusability or other software improvements.
• Drive software architecture discipline and principles into the organization; Mentor other members of the team.
• Establish a clear consistent technology across all applications and be the primary liaison with the IT Infrastructure team.
• Partner with leadership and stakeholders to identify barriers to execution and opportunities for technology innovation.
• Stay current on architectural and technology trends that enable or enhance system capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering disciplines.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of experience as a software architect.
• Proven ability to break-up complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to speak and write clearly and accurately, particularly as it relates to technical concepts.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React).
• Experience with Progressive Web Apps and Single Page Apps.
• Expert in Object Oriented Analysis and Design.
• Familiar with Enterprise Application and Integration Patterns.
• Familiar with Relational Database Management Systems and SQL.

Compensation:

The compensation range being offered for this role is $129,000-$142,000 Salary. Compensation and benefits information for this position is being included in accordance with requirements of the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Please note that the salary range listed relate specifically to roles located in Colorado and that salary ranges for similar positions located in other Ascend Clinical locations may vary. In addition, salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to individual competencies, education/professional certifications, experience and performance in the role.
