ASC Ortho Management Company/Aligned Orthopedic Partners Hiring for Billing Specialist at Maryland Full Time

Aligned Orthopedic Partners is recruiting for an experienced Billing Specialist.

What you will do:

• Accurately perform insurance verifications, pre-certification/pre-authorization functions as required/assigned and in a timely manner
• Accurately posts charges and surgeries in a timely manner; ensures completeness of fee slips and hospital charge forms; obtains missing information and processes to optimize revenue cycle
• Reconcile daily collections, per established money handling procedures; prepares bank deposit daily and forwards to Office Manage
• Prepare and submit electronic and paper insurance claims in a timely manner; prepares and attaches all required documentation including referrals, treatment plans or other required correspondence
• Review electronic transmission error s, makes corrections and resubmits in a timely manner; s issues to Business Office Supervisor as identified and seeks assistance in resolution
• Post payments received, works credit balances per Refunds Policy
• Respond to patient and insurance inquiries in a timely fashion; checks designated voicemail box regularly throughout the day to ensure prompt follow up
• Provide patient financial counseling as appropriate
• Perform designated functions required for accurate daily close of the billing system
• Aggressively work patient and insurance accounts receivable; s accounts receivable activities to Business Office Supervisor on a weekly basis
• Prepare billing correspondence; maintains all billing related documents per protocol – seek assistance from Office Manager as needed
• Assist in preparation of practice summary s, as requested or assigned
• Assist in providing telephone support and coverage for front desk personnel, as needed
• Attend regularly scheduled business office meetings; assists in identifying “best coding and billing practices” which will ensure maximum reimbursement and s reimbursement trends

• High School Diploma
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multi-task and capable of remaining calm in a stressful situation
• Able to use a multi-line telephone system and the billing computer program
• Demonstrates keyboard proficiency
• Demonstrates working knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic and procedural coding and the medical billing process
