The Company

This business bring plywood into UK in bulk and add value to it. They can: size it, laminate, shape, profile, drill and edge. Once they have worked their magic, they sell to manufacturers who use it as a component in their products the majority of their client base are furniture manufacturers.

The Role

They are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to effectively deliver both a preventative & reactive maintenance schedules. As Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the magic never runs out managing every aspect of the maintenance function. The Maintenance Engineer will also be required to carry out administrative tasks as well as liaise with sub-contractors attending site inspections when required.

Main Duties

• Maintaining the operational performance of the site’s production equipment and services
• Reduce downtime relating to breakdowns
• Supporting the production team, the Maintenance Engineer will have a pro-active approach in maintenance and diagnosing system faults.
• New installations and identifying continuous improvement ideas
• Planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Organise and control any external/specialist contractors to assist with the daily duties and planned projects where applicable
• General health and safety responsibilities.
• Maintain spares inventory.

About you

• Multi-skilled engineer including electrical
• Have a passion for fault finding and improvements
• Experience in a busy production/manufacturing environment
• Good communication skills, Pro-actively driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
