Mental Health Mentor – Adults or Children & Young People (Online)

Arthur Ellis: Mental Health Support is looking for Mental Health Mentors to join our movement to enable children, young people, and vulnerable adults to access support for their mental health when they need it.

Arthur Ellis is a multi-award-winning not for profit training and support company providing training to corporate companies, schools and colleges and using the funds to drive a 1:1 service offered to children, young people, and vulnerable adults across the country without thresholds or waiting lists.

We operate a two day turn around from referral to first contact with clients reaching out to use wanting help. This is typically done by our Senior Mentors who will then allocate people to you that will be best suited to your skills and experience.

We are looking for people who choose to put the care of clients and their recovery first over anything else, to help them develop long term strategies and manage whatever they may face whether its short or long term.

You will be responsible for:

• Scheduling appointments with your clients via our online platforms
• Delivering online appointments, these will be 50 minutes giving the remaining time left for session note and booking the next session
• Completing session notes and related admin for each session on our online system
• Dealing with complex needs and behaviours
• Teaching clients a variety of evidence-based coping strategies
• Reporting to a Senior Mentor on client progress and any safeguarding concerns
• Working with either Adults or Children and Young People dependant on your previous experience
• Undertaking mandatory training and supervision

What are we looking for?

• Educated up to degree level or equivalent in a field of psychology or mental health
• You will have at least two year’s experience working with people on a one-to-one basis in a support capacity
• Even though this is primarily a remote working position, there may be instances where you may have face to face sessions, and you will need to travel; so, you will ideally have a Full UK Drivers License and access to a vehicle and be based around the Milton Keynes area

You will also be required to go through our initial induction and training process before working with clients. The training phase is unpaid. We will cover the costs of Enhanced DBS Checks for successful candidates.
