Position Overview

Controller/Accounting Manager assures accurate and timely financial information through the design, installation and maintenance of accounting systems, policies and procedures which provide a sound basis for management analysis and public disclosure of financial results. Must have experience with a public company, or a private company looking to go public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reports to CFO or CEO

• Bring current accounting from cash basis to accrual basis.

• Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close function including compliance with GAAP, SEC and SOX requirements to ensure a timely and accurate close.

• Responsible for the review, assessment, and implementation of amended and new accounting standards and compliance.

• Responsible for quarterly and annual audits.

• Manager monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.

• Provide timely, accurate and compliant consolidated external financial reporting.

• Possess critical analytical skills for issue investigation and resolutions.

• Ensure compliance with state, local and federal government tax rules.

• Prepare and manage the annual budget and monitoring expenditures.

• Skillful in accounting software in QuickBooks, NetSuite and other accounting systems as required.

• Coordinate with management, external consultants, auditors and other professionals for SEC filings.

• Development of financial information requirements and systems to improve the quality of information available to management which supports critical decision making.

• Design and maintain an effective accounting and finance internal control system in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

• Oversee the preparation of the corporate book/tax analysis and the filing of all state and federal tax returns.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Experience

• 5+ years corporate accounting experience of daily accounting operations, month/quarter/year end closing.

• Public accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC and SOX compliance.

• Experience in designing and implementing internal control systems in an early stage company.

• Experience in working with senior management, CFO, CEO and members of the Board of Directors.

• Experience in managing accounting, treasury, tax and planning functions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
