Pre-College Portfolio Development Instructor 2022

The Art League of Long Island is looking for a dynamic art instructor to teach its premier 2022 Summer Pre-College Portfolio Development program. The ideal candidate is upbeat, energetic and knowledgeable of the college application process and what colleges are looking for in a solid portfolio. The instructor must have 5 -7 years-experience teaching high school or college level art. College level a plus.

The first session starts on July 12, 2022 and ends July 22, 2022. The second session starts on July 27, 2022 through August 6, 2022. The program runs from Tuesday through Friday from

10 am – 3pm.

Education Requirements

• MFA and or Masters in Education

Requirements

• Ability to perform in depth portfolio critiques and facilitate critiques in the classroom
• Knowledge of the college application process and what colleges are looking for in a solid portfolio
• Love for teaching and helping students to grow and develop in the creative process
• Excellent communication skills
• A current art practice with sample portfolio
• An expertise in fine art fundamentals: drawing, painting, figure drawing
• An expertise in at least one area of specialization, such as ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry making, printmaking, etc.
