Job Description:
This role primarily involves transcribing physician-patient interaction, interpreting medical terminology and abbreviations, and preparing patient charts for future appointments and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document the details of the patient’s visit, including the history, physical exam, diagnostic findings, and treatment procedures.
- Interpret and transcribe dictations from physicians and healthcare professionals to document patient care.
- Proofread and edit transcriptions for spelling, grammar, clarity, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Manage and organize medical records to ensure data privacy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with the medical team to ensure accurate patient records.
- Assist in routine administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient databases.
- Stay updated with the latest medical terminologies and procedures related to orthopaedics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Scribe or Transcriptionist, preferably in an orthopaedic setting.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in orthopaedics.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) software.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in medical transcription (CMT) is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Travel to other work locations with provider (Redlands, Hemet, Victorville)
