Business Development Manager – Microsoft

Job Description:

This role is based in Sydney or Melbourne (National Role).

Arrow Electronics is a global IT distributor specializing in Data Centre, Cyber Security, Cloud solutions, and works with some of the industry’s leading vendors. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join and work closely with our Microsoft team aligned to drive significant customer adds with partners in indirect ecosystems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and execute scalable cloud business plans with select partners, leveraging Microsoft templates and guidance to acquire new Azure customers. Target customer acquisition may include both existing On-Prem clients of the partner and new prospects not yet utilizing Azure Cloud.
• Support partners in skill development by helping them acquire the necessary sales and technical capabilities for Azure customer onboarding. Specialize in fostering skills for initial cloud workload consumption, such as Migration services, Azure Security, and BCDR, as well as building a scalable cloud service business through Azure Lighthouse and Azure Sentinel. Utilize CloudAscent Indirect Provider Workbooks to assess partners’ MCPP and Certification status, and assist in bridging skill gaps using Microsoft enablement offers.
• Enable partners to build and drive demand by assisting in crafting compelling offers tailored to key customer scenarios. Mobilize partners to leverage Microsoft resources like Coop funds, Cloud Ascent targeting data, and DMC tools, while participating in Microsoft programs such as SMB customer workshops to generate awareness and differentiation. Support selected marketing strategies through the use of Microsoft Partner Marketing Materials, Partner Customer Journey’s Playbooks, and the facilitation of demand generation campaigns utilizing DMC tools and Coop funds.
• Drive customer acquisition pipeline with each partner by building a pipeline specifically for acquiring new Azure customers. Spearhead activities for pipeline generation such as marketing and acceleration through workshops, while also supporting closing strategies like incentives, promotions, and offers. Assist Resellers in pitching Azure to end customers in both 1:many formats like presentations and workshops, as well as in targeted 1:1 engagements. Track and share pipeline metrics for each partner, and provide feedback to Microsoft local counterparts to address acceleration opportunities and remove blockers.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Azure customer acquisition within the CSP Indirect Provider organization. Assist peers in winning new Azure partnerships through delivering presentations and workshops to both existing and potential partners. Provide expertise to team members for closing Azure deals.
• Analyze market trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and promotions
• Prepare s and forecasts for management on a regular basis.

What We Are Looking For

• Effective communication and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Complete Azure Fundamentals (AZ900) Certification within the first three months of hire as a minimum requirement for the role.
• Possess knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program, including aspects like Azure Solutions Partner Designations, Specializations, Partner-led AMMP, and CSP Incentives.
• Minimum 6 months of work experience in a sales/marketing role in the desired IT business. Ideally experience working at a Partner/Hoster/Service Provider or Cloud Service vendor.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a sales, marketing or Business Development role.
• Microsoft Product experience preferred. Ideal candidates do have a basic understanding of Azure and the Microsoft partner ecosystem already.
