Summary

Sets up and operates extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sets up and operates extruder line, to produce plastic sheets/rolls meeting specs, dimension and weight.

Install or change screens, set up line slitter, trim scrap collector or grinder, adjusts dies, speed and temperature for sheet uniformity and quality.

Visually check sheets for defects, check dimensions and make necessary adjustments.

Maintain records of material use and production.

Arranges raw material feeding system and containers.

Remove and wrap rolls.

Responsible for quality of product, safety and housekeeping.

Ensure communication of Food Safety and Quality responsibilities to relevant personnel.

Demonstrates machine safety knowledge (i.e. e-stops, pinch points and other safety features).

Identifies different tooling components

Checks schedule on a daily basis for planning purposes

Reviews the guidelines / job packet prior to starting the job to ensure complete understanding of the quality and specifications of the product being run on the machine

Utilizes thickness gauge/micrometer

Performs first piece/part approval when running new jobs and signs off on it

Performs quality checks every hour unless otherwise specified

Performs utility and/or material handling duties as necessary

Stops machine(s) when malfunctions/defects are found and s the malfunctions/defects to the Supervisor

Performs maintenance on equipment and tooling as necessary. Notifies management of maintenance requirements beyond their ability so a Maintenance Technician can be contacted.

Recognizes when machine is not running at target and asks for help to correct it if needed

Complies with Display Pack safety policies and procedures and s safety hazards/violations to supervisor.

Performs lockout/tag out procedure whenever a machine needs to be worked on

Labels plastic scrap totes correctly to avoid cross-contamination

Identifies non-conforming wood pallets and takes appropriate action to replace them

Performs Food Checks on food products and knows machine cleaning requirements

Leads line clearances and knows how to conduct line clearances

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Experience:

• Extrusion Machine: 2 years (Preferred)
• Machine Operator: 2 years (Preferred)
• Manufacturing: 2 years (Required)
