About the Opportunity

The owners have a strong vision of growing Armadillo globally and to achieve this vision, they are actively seeking a Global CEO who will be based in Australia, where the brand roots lie. We see tremendous potential in expanding Armadillo’s presence in the market, and are confident that with the right leadership, our team will achieve incredible results.

The Global CEO will lead, direct, oversee and manage Armadillo’s entities in keeping with the vision and mission of the Directors. With growth in mind, the CEO will continue to improve upon the existing processes, objectives and the business in current locations (AU and US) whilst also setting and executing strategic plans that enable the business to continue to expand into new locations across the Americas and Europe. The CEO will keep our business, and our team, true to the Cultural Principals and will lead with innovation, creativity, respect and integrity at all times.

The CEO will partner with the Directors to set long-term strategic goals that align with the ambitions of the business, whilst also having the commercial acumen to break down a roadmap into realistic and actionable goals. This pivotal role will hold responsibilities across several key areas including financial and operational performance, strategy planning and delivery, sales and marketing, people, innovation and learning and most importantly, leadership.

Due to the footprint of the business, and the longer-term goals, the Global CEO will be expected to travel to our showrooms and locations in America approximately once per quarter. In addition, travel to other locations across Australia will be required.

About You

You will have high levels of strategic agility, executive presence and sound decision-making abilities whilst also being capable of building and leading effective teams. Most importantly, you will be proud to lead the team and will be excited to advocate for, represent and champion the Armadillo brand, team and business at every opportunity.

Some of the key capabilities and experience we will be looking for are below:

• Extensive experience in a CEO, Managing Director or Executive General Manager position ideally within a global context. Candidates that have lived and worked outside of Australia but are seeking to return to a new role are welcome to apply.
• Whilst we would like to find a candidate that has worked within Design, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Retail, Architecture or Furniture/Homewares industries, we are open to welcoming a wide range of backgrounds and are interested in speaking to a wide range of candidates across many industries and sectors.
• Proven track record for identifying, setting and achieving short- and long-term goals and business objectives at an individual, team and group level.
• Experience effectively leading and managing across a geographically dispersed team with an appreciation and understanding of cultural differences, changes to workplace regulations and cultures, individual preferences and communication styles.
• Strong ability to organise effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.
• Ability to respectfully challenge others and improve ways of working. Can identify, lead and implement changes to processes.
• Proven track record of effectively and efficiently growing, improving and developing a business so that it achieves its vision, mission and objectives in a risk-free and sustainable manner.
• Clearly able to anticipate future consequences and trends using broad knowledge and perspective, is future orientated, can articulately create credible possibilities and likelihoods, develops creative and fit-for-purpose strategies and plans.
• Creative,”bigger picture”, out of the box thinker with a natural problem-solving mindset.
• Extremely strong commercial and financial acumen that allows for effective ing, management of budgets, forecasting and strong market orientation and perspective.
