Arlington Public Schools Virtual Learning Program

POSITION TITLE: Teacher-Secondary

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure in one or more of the following areas:

7-12 Math, 7-12 Science, 7-12 English, 7-12 Social Studies, K-12 Spanish, K-12 Special Education, K-12 Spanish

Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is a 1.0 or less FTE located at the Virtual Learning Program (K-12). In the event that the enrollment is insufficient, it is possible that you may be moved to a different school and/or program after you accept an assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials

Maintains safe and orderly environment

Communicates with parents/guardians

Maintains complete and accurate student records

Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members

Monitors and assesses student achievement

Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings

EXPERIENCE:

Teaching experience in the above-mentioned area

Knowledge of best instructional practices

Ability to integrate technology

Experience in educational and instructional leadership

Dual endorsed preferred

Bilingual skills preferred
