Job Description

The core responsibility of a software engineer at Arista Networks is to deliver product features. A major part of this is writing the code that drives our products. But the role of a software engineer is much bigger than just being a coding machine. Software engineers work on the whole development process, including:

• deciding what features to build

• driving the design

• writing the code (of course)

• pushing testing

• documenting, maintaining and supporting the feature

As a graduate software engineer, we’ll help you start out by pairing you with an experienced mentor and finding you projects that best match your interests and experience. This could include extending or adding new features, enhancing our existing codebase, or improving our productivity tools.

In addition to your projects, you might:

• extend and improve the test infrastructure

• contribute to our engineering tools, including git, p4, python, golang, flask, react.js, …

The Person

We are looking for talented developers with great communication skills and a drive to find the best solution to a problem. Some of the areas our engineers work on include:

• our embedded operating system (EOS),

• features our customers rely on in EOS,

• programming languages, and

• web and cli tools to improve our engineering workflow.

Experience in any of these areas will stand you in good stead, but is not a requirement. An ability to learn them on the job is just as good.

Qualifications

You must have a Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Candidates with an equivalent or more advanced postgraduate degree are also encouraged to apply.
