Quality Engineer
Reporting to: Director of client service & Quality
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer will be involved in a variety of tasks and initiatives to implement, maintain and improve the quality of our service and products. The Quality Engineer will work with stakeholders to achieve corporate quality objectives including support of the business operations with all quality-related processes and procedures. The position will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level by maintaining the Quality Management System and monitoring processes and controls stated are effective and conformed. The Quality Engineer will apply his/her skills and experience to lead a strong quality infrastructure with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives that will support the business vision.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Lead, plan and conduct internal audits against ISO 9001 standards.
Oversee maintenance of Argus Quality Management System including the quality manuals, quality systems procedures, standard operating procedures, and related documents in accordance with ISO 9001 and other regulatory bodies’ requirements.
Create best practice tools to improve performance and compliance with ISO 9001 and other regulatory bodies.
Identify and monitor nonconformances and opportunities for improvement and provide sound guidance on root cause analysis and facilitate proposed corrective actions with responsible owners.
Analyze and monitor manufacturing, service, and other company processes to report and present quality metrics in KPIs and business reports.
Inspect completed work and/or work in progress to determine whether the work meets customer and design specifications and provide timely feedback to stakeholders.
Identify and lead continuous process improvement initiatives with department owners.
Promote and educate on good document management practices i.e., Document creation, approval, publishing, review, archive, disposal, storage, and recall.
Utilize quality engineering tools and techniques to establish sampling plans, develop quality plans, conduct and participate in FMEA activities, support reliability engineering activities and assist in specification development; apply process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) and statistical tools to identify and implement solutions.
Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality requirements and periodically inspect and calibrate auditing tools.
Develop QMS strategies with the Director, Client Service, and Quality and provide tracking information on a timely basis to decision-makers.
Liaise with departmental managers and personnel throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly.
Assist in the resolution of quality assurance issues by working with departments, investigating, and planning corrective actions.
Support and comply with all Argus policies.
Act only in ways that advance the company’s objectives, values, and reputation.
KN0WLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proven track record for building or improving a robust quality management system with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Comprehensive knowledge of Quality and auditing techniques, process development, process control, internal audits, and continuous improvement activities.
Effective relationship management skills and ability to recommend creative solutions and action plans to stakeholders.
Able to balance Argus business needs to compliance requirements by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong interpersonal communications and presentations skills including confidence in delivering training/presentations
Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong computer skills are required including competency with MS Office.
Strong experience in project and time management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
University degree or College Diploma in science, engineering, or related field preferred.
Certificate/Diploma in Quality Assurance and/or ISO 9001 Certified Internal Auditor certification is an asset.
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
