Brief Position Description:
Employee works in one of four functional teams to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant in order to maximize operational efficiency in an environment of continuous improvement. Functional areas are Raw Material Unloading, Milling and Laboratory, Blending and Packing, and Warehousing and Shipping. The position requires the inspection, troubleshooting, and adjustment of all equipment in assigned functional area, regular quality checks of product, understanding of computer systems that controls the functional area, and all support machinery
Employee must be dedicated to the safety of yourself and coworkers. Follow all company guidelines and safety standards. Holding customers, contractors, visitors, and coworkers to the same level of safety standards.
Nature and Scope
Raw Material Functional Area Operators
➢Comply and support all Argos and MSHA mandated safety rules, policies &procedures
➢Operation of locomotives
➢Operation of support mobile equipment
➢Rail car switching
➢Unloading cement in both gravity and pneumatic railcars
➢Unloading of stone cars and operation of the rotary car dump
➢Maintain unloading records and railcar tracking
➢Counting cars daily for reconciliation
➢Operate all conveyor belts, air slides, valves and chutes that convey material tothe variety of silos throughout the plant
➢Responsible for keeping the CUL, finish silos and other assigned areas clean.
➢The operators must attend regular safety meetings as defined by DepartmentLeaders
Milling and Laboratory Functional Area Operators
➢ Comply and support all Argos and MSHA mandated safety rules, policies & procedures
➢ Solid understanding of all three milling circuits, able to troubleshoot and adjust equipment
➢ Trained and can efficiently preform all required laboratory test at the prescribed intervals
➢ Operation of the bulk load system including Order Management and SAP
➢ Troubleshoot maintenance issues at BLO
➢ Communicate loading issues to supervisor
➢ Service customers with respect
➢ Assist with CUL operation
➢ Operation of support mobile equipment
➢ Able to operate the milling control system for a period of time while the PCS not available
➢ Take silo measurements and change silo as required
➢ Maintain functional area to comply with housekeeping standards
➢ The operators must attend regular safety meetings as defined by Department Leaders
Packhouse
➢ Comply and support all Argos and MSHA mandated safety rules, policies & procedures
➢ Maintain all levels of the packhouse free of hazards, in a neat and orderly appearance that meets environmental standards.
➢ Must conduct good housekeeping practices in work areas, including shoveling and sweeping.
➢ Solid understanding of both blending and packing lines, able to troubleshoot and adjust equipment
➢ Operate support mobile equipment
➢ Comply with the color quality system and accurate follow test procedures at the prescribed intervals
➢ Operation of material transfer system and pigment systems to maintain steady material flow
➢ Accurate maintain production records
➢ Accurately produce products to comply with ASTM standards
Warehouse
➢ Comply and support all Argos and MSHA mandated safety rules, policies & procedures
➢ Operate forklifts to pull production lines, warehousing, and truck loading
➢ Maintain the shipping free of hazards, in a neat and orderly appearance that meets environmental standards.
➢ Operation of the bag load system including Order Management and SAP
➢ Ship all product to meet plant standards for palletized products
➢ Serve as a customer liaison to the truck drivers and customers, conducting yourself to the highest level of professionalism
➢ Maintain warehouse organization and inventory
➢ Accurate load trucks in a efficient manner
➢ Communicate loading issues to supervisor
➢ Service customers with respect

While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to travel through a cement plant, i.e., walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.).The employee will at times be exposed to extremely hot/cold, dusty, noisy, or dark situations. At times, work will be performed at great heights or in small confined spaces.Physical Demands
