Archmill House Hiring for Production Controller at Hamilton, ON Full Time

The Production Controller is responsible to manage the success of a specific program (or programs depending on size) through Production. Manage stock inventory levels, creating the work orders, releasing them and manage through the entire production phase, making sure you are communicating with the Program Managers and Production Scheduler for alignment of customer satisfaction and date confirmations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: *

• Work Order Creation
• Create stock work orders to meet MRP demands, checked weekly, creation of WO minimum four weeks before the due date
• Create custom work orders for custom location-specific items, checked daily, creation of WO four weeks before due date unless pre-approved program specific

• Work Order Release & Processing
• Create/Print “stock” work order production files and compile into a floor “folder” (traveler)
• Create/Print “custom” work order production files, optimize materials, check BoM release to production.

• Work Order Management Through Production
• Confirm requested dates from PM with production scheduler, communicate any challenges or changes back to PM well in advance
• Follow up with Production Supervisors/Scheduler make sure work orders are on track. Do daily walk-through Production to understand WO status

• Stock Level Management

• Check item running balance, understand upcoming demand for next 6-8 weeks. Create work orders accordingly
• Work with Production scheduling to level load production, by pulling up work orders to run in slow times

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Quality Focused
• Ability to understand and interpret Blueprints/Shop Drawings
• Excellent time management skills
• 2-3 years experience in the architectural millwork industry, or similar manufacturing environment
• Hands-on with practical build and/or installation experience
• CNC knowledge is an asset
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
• Able to effectively build and maintain strong relationships
• Detail Oriented and metric driven
• Creative, with the ability to think of “outside the box” to come up with effective & timely solutions

EDUCATION:

• Not critical, need drive and passion for continuous improvement. Must be process driven and goal oriented.
