Arch MI Australia Hiring for Accountant Job at Sydney Full Time

• Daily, weekly and monthly and annual financial processes;
• The accounts payable function
• Preparation of statutory and regulatory reports;
• Preparation of internal management reports;
• Liaison with suppliers and other key stakeholders on finance matters; and
• Participating in delivering on short and long term strategies for achieving company growth, profitability and risk quality objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Daily, weekly, monthly and annual finance processes (including statutory, regulatory and management reporting)
• Coding invoices and preparing reconciliations as part of the accounts payable function
• Participating in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
• Monitoring and processing financial transactions with Arch LMI’s lending customers and suppliers
• Undertaking taxation reporting obligations including GST and Stamp Duty
• Developing and maintaining an effective internal control environment which complies with current best practice and ensures that Arch LMI meets all relevant compliance obligations including those arising from SOX
• Working with other ACGL companies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with inter-company arrangements and to action all required intra-group reporting
• Responding to information requests from regulars and auditors (both internal and external)
• Preparing ad-hoc analyses and financial reports as required by the Financial Controller
• Participating in ad-hoc project work

Required Skills/Experience:

• Prior experience and proficiency in an accounts payable function
• Proficiency in Australian GAAP, ideally within a general insurance environment
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills in written and verbal formats; ability to address broad range of audiences including senior management, external stakeholders and technical experts
• Focus on client and customer service
• A willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team
• Professional maturity and confidence
• Bias towards action and self-direction
• Microsoft Excel skills

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Familiarity with APRA reporting standards for general insurers

• This role has been classified as hybrid per the Arch Flexible Work Arrangement assessment process. The 2 remaining days may be worked remotely in a location with adequate internet connections, security controls and an ergonomic workspace.
