OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for day to day accounting and reporting on financial data for budgeting and forecasting purposes. The Financial Analyst will analyze expenditures, budgets, cash flow, and investments/capital to provide financial advice to the organization.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts
Prepare weekly bank reconciliation, weekly cash flow forecast/reporting
Maintain standard cost system and ensure accuracy of Bill of Material
Prepare product costing analysis/contribution margin analysis and reporting
Maintain Tooling and Prototype sales and costing.
Oversee and assist with AP and AR as required
Prepare inventory reconciliation/ material claims/scrap chargeback calculation/inventory reserve/inventory aging
Maintain Fixed Asset system (tracking capital spending/addition/depreciation) and prepayment schedule
Manage sales Contracts and communicate information to Sales and Materials Departments
Extract plant shop floor data to ensure manufacturing variances are understood and actionable based on the collection and analysis of data
Prepare financial statements and assist with analysis
Prepare and analyze journal entries, assist with month-end closing and prepare month-end report package
Manage month-end closing and preparing month-end report package
Prepare year-end report package
Review expense reports and prepare expense report journal entries, including tracking submission status for credit card users
Prepare Ad-hoc reports assigned by Controller and assist Controller with budget and forecasting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Accounting or Finance degree
Previous experience (minimum 2 years) in a manufacturing environment (Automative preferred)
Proficient with MS Office products, Advance Excel is required
Familiarity with AS400 and CMS400 accounting systems is preferred
Payroll accreditation and experience with UKG is an asset
Familiarity with MRP systems is preferred
Holds or is working towards a CPA designation
5 years’ experience working in a financial role
Advanced excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset is required for this role
