We’re seeking a compassionate and attentive individual to empower better living for our residents. The Personal Care Aide is a specialized Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) that supports residents with individualized hygiene care needs. Among other duties, the Personal Care Aide will primarily focus on bathing needs of residents to include showering assistance and bed bathing.

Essential Functions of Personal Care Aide (CNA):

• Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs
• Assists residents with grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, bathing (shower schedule and documentation), hair, and incontinence care
• Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding
• Assists resident with range of motion exercises
• Provides for personal care and comfort
• Movement to wheelchair or activity areas
• Assists residents with ambulation for short distance in center
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed
• Provides direct and indirect resident care services
• Meets the communication needs of resident and family
• Communicates to nursing team changes in residents’ clinical condition
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications of Personal Care Aide (CNA):

• High School diploma or general equivalency is preferred
• Must pass a state-issued exam
• Required valid certification as a CNA in the state of Iowa
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment is preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and center staff
