Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Plant Manager, responsible for the supervision, coordination, and scheduling to meet production targets and quality standards. Staff training in production processes, policies, safety and identifying problems and/or safety issues. Prepare written reports, maintain effective budgeting for their division. Expected to manage targets, goals, and efficiencies to ensure the ongoing success of plant operations.

. Responsibilities:

• Supervise manufacturing shop workers and instruct on best practices
• Advise mechanics of required equipment repair; ensure work is completed
• Comply with standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety
• Identify, investigate, correct and document environmental and safety hazards
• Design work schedules, coordinate activities; liaise with other departments
• Resolve problems, recommend measures to improve productivity and quality
• Provide information for work plans ensuring that production objectives are met
• Requisition materials and supplies as required
• Current knowledge of manufacturing technology and safe operations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a manufacturing/engineering related field
• Minimum of 7 years’ production supervisory experience in a related field
• Leadership, team building, training, motivating, mentoring, performance appraisals
• Strong communication skills to liaise and partner with customer representatives on-site.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
• Well-developed problem- solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
• Plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret organizational vision and mission
• Strong negotiation and prioritization skills
• Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds
• Must be able to distinguish colors
• High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
