Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for Junior .NET Developers for our Epic insurance software product development team. Our new Developers are supported with an in-house training program that includes mentoring with team members, a subscription to excellent online training, and opportunities to attend external training and conferences when needed. In fact, we will support you with everything you need to become a highly accomplished Developer with the opportunity to work on several projects in our sector. Successful applicants will be part of an Agile Scrum team that develops and maintains our software using C#, VB.Net, Visual Studio, and SQL Server. They will collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum team members to deliver high quality technical solutions that answer our clients’ business requirements.

We are growing our team in the UK and are looking for dynamic developers at all levels who are passionate about delivering clean, well-written, enterprise scale applications developed using sound software principals.

What You Will Do

• Build .NET applications in a TDD approach
• Become a dedicated participant of an Agile Scrum team
• Collaborate with other members of the Scrum team to self-manage feature development to completion
• Participate in sprint reviews of completed functionality at the end of each sprint
• Identify and communicate possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers
• Work closely with peer developers and QA team members to ensure that user stories are delivered as a team
• Work with peer Dev Ops staff to ensure application and technical infrastructure designs are compatible
• Understanding business objectives and suggesting strategies to meet them through technology innovation
• Enhancing existing software by analysing and identifying areas for refactoring, optimisation and code clean up

What You Will Need to Be Successful

• 
  Remote Opportunity: Ability to work remotely as part of our hybrid working model but ideally within easy commuting distance to one of our offices in Brighton (UK) / Belfast (Ireland), or from an Applied Systems office.
• 
  Must Haves:

• Ideally Educated to degree level (BSc or BEng) or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 1+ years of programming experience using C# or VB.Net, SQL Server, and Visual Studio
• Some experience working in an Agile Scrum or Kanban environment
• Can demonstrate the ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment
• Possess a strong work ethic and able to deliver solutions in committed timeframes
• Demonstrate troubleshooting skills and research abilities
• Must possess strong communications skills

• 
  Desirable, But Not Essential
  • Hands-on experience with .NET 6+Exposure to GitLab, or a similar code repository
  • Experience with GCP
