In this highly visible role as a part of the industry-recognized and innovative CPU design team, you will work closely with design team to enable and standardize analysis of state-of-the-art CPU physical design and implementation and provide custom solutions wherever needed. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interface and interact across most disciplines in CPU design and also influence other teams in the Silicon Engineering Group (SEG) at Apple.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Familiarity with physical design flow (synthesis and PnR) with good understanding on high performance and low power design concepts
- Proficiency in industry-standard APR, STA, and Power analysis tools
- Competency in logic design (RTL) and electrical fundamentals
- Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: HTML, Javascript, PHP, SQL
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Description
– Development of physical design analysis scripts/tools to enable best in class CPU physical design, and convergence – Including but not limited to scripts/programs for analyzing and mining design/library data, and identification of opportunities to improve CPU design and productization – Automation/standardization of design analysis across related domains to improve design productivity, sign-off, and achieve fast convergence to PPA targets – Semi-custom physical design scripts/programs to address CPU specific challenges in achieving product targets and goals – To achieve the above, you will work extensively with leaders in implementation, RTL, DV, architecture, silicon debug, library and CAD teams

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,000 and $278,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
