Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer – Azure, Network, Windows

Hybrid – one day per week on client sites (North West)

£40,000 – £45,000

Applause IT are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer to work for a prominent brand within the care division that develop, install and maintain a monitoring solution for their assisted living alarm to local authorities, private care providers and more.

The successful Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer will deliver a mix of remote support for their Cloud Infrastructure, encompassing the deployment, upkeep, and assistance for their cloud-based platform. Additionally, they will offer on-site support for the on-premise systems located at customer sites. The monitoring solution is under continuous operation by the clients, serving as a vital resource for handling emergency alarm calls from vulnerable service users. The position therefore requires providing incident response support outside of regular hours as part of a rotating on-call schedule (1 week in 5).

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with customer support background.
• Proficiency in Azure, including IaaS design, vNets, AD, High Availability, Cybersecurity, and monitoring.
• Strong understanding of Application, Server, and Network Security, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to design IaaS Architecture and effectively communicate deployment options.
• Familiarity with SQL Server and SQL DB structure.
• Experience with SIP Proxy Servers (e.g., 3CX, Freeswitch) and SIP/VoIP communication.
• Hands-on expertise in Router/Firewall management, VPN configuration, and network segregation.
• Windows Server and Desktop configuration skills (2012 – 2019), Linux knowledge a plus.
• Certifications in Azure, Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, or similar technologies preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas
• Full UK driving license.

Duties of the Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer:

• Manage cloud and legacy customer monitoring platforms, including migrations and new client setups.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades for infrastructure, servers, and software.
• Provide prompt remote and on-site IT support to resolve customer issues.
• Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO27001, and CyberEssentials standards through documentation and incident tracking.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (1 week in 5) for incident response.
• Uphold Core Values and Code of Ethics, and contribute to Corporate Social Responsibility commitments.
