Apex is looking for a highly motivated individual to join its team as Junior Compliance Associate to support Apex Group Limited, covering the businesses of Apex in the UK on a part-time basis. Our firm is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and provides services such as Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting, Depositary and Corporate Services for local and group clients. Reporting to the Assistant Compliance manager in the UK. The position encompasses compliance advisory, monitoring and fulfilment of the FCA requirements.

The successful candidate will be required to support the Assistant Compliance Manager in providing a full range of Compliance Functions performed by the business, including completion of the Compliance Monitoring Plan, to ensure training is completed in line with regulatory requirements and AML support such as screening of clients and underlying investors as applicable. Ideally already be working in a compliance role and an understanding with the UK regulatory environment, international financial regulations.

Job Specification:

• Work with the Compliance team to ensure Apex are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements and best risk/compliance practice.
• Assist with the Compliance Officer with the provision of comprehensive advisory, risk assessment, monitoring and control services. And fulfilling compliance delivery on various applicable local and EU Directive/law such as Criminal Finances, Money Laundering, General Data Protection, Terrorism, Anti-terrorism, Crime & Security, Serious Organised Crime and Police, Financial Services and Markets, Companies House, Bribery Act and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
• Assist with the Compliance team with the maintenance of various regulatory registers.
• To conduct regular compliance monitoring reviews, analysis and reporting in adherence with the Compliance Monitoring Programme (“CMP”) and report to the Assistant Compliance Manager on the findings.
• To assist with the operational oversight of activities in accordance with processes and procedures and contribute to the development of such processes, procedures and internal control environment.
• To assist the Compliance Officer in ensuring that the risk management framework in place to the Apex business remains appropriate.
• Help ensure regulatory updates are issued in timely manner in line with requirements.
• Support the training on anti-money laundering, sanctions and privacy matters where required.
• Complete required AML tasks and reporting as required working with local transfer agency and administration teams as required.
• Ensure that suspicious transaction monitoring and reporting to the relevant local authorities is performed
• Support the UK Head of Compliance with enquiries raised by the Regulator in a timely manner.
• Support with the production of monthly reporting for entities required to be produced to the Group.
