Aperion Care Hiring for Medical Records Coordinator / Scheduler at Venice, FL Full Time

Within the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) community setting, responsible to maintain complete and accurate medical records, in compliance with the rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies and the standards of excellence promoted by the American Medical Records Association

Essential Functions:

• Ensures proper admissions documentation per admission procedures
• Assemble and complete all new charts with resident assigned medical records number, name, physician name, or any other information pertinent to the resident
• Maintain resident charts according to Records Procedure Manual to meet regulations and to ensure ease of handling
• Establish and maintain a chart alphabetical filing system for both current and discharged residents in the medical records office
• Follow procedures established in Medical Records Procedure Manual for releasing resident information
• Handle discharged residents’ charts as outlined in Medical Records Procedures Manual. Monitor for uncompleted records or notes; notify appropriate department head of any deficiencies
• Enter all necessary information in the “Death Registry” when a resident expires
• Practice positive resident relations. Respond to resident and family inquiries, concerns or problems according to service standards; refer resident and/or family to supervisor when appropriate
• Communicate and cooperate with other members of the multi- disciplinary health care team to accomplish resident care plans
• Demonstrate respectful and courteous behavior in all interactions with residents, families, staff and other visitors to the Health Center
• The position requires ordering and stocking supplies for skilled nursing
• Position requires skilled staffing and scheduling” C.N.A. & Nurses” and may require taking phone calls after hours and weekends with compensation as Applicable
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor
• Provide all authorized persons with data from medical records when necessary and appropriate
• Adhere to universal precautions and all other infection control guidelines
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency policy and procedures
• Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident infomation at all times
• Perform all responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner, practice all safety and loss prevention methods
• Meet or exceed appearance, sanitation, hygiene and health standards

• Becomes familiar and understands the steps for fire evacuation

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook software; basic typing skills required
• Experience in the senior care environment preferred
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
• Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
