Working with the wider DevOps team in our Product department, you will lead the development of automation and integrations between systems, keeping our web applications and APIs maintainable, scalable, resilient, and on time. You will be at the forefront of developing APIs and applications to assist in managing business assets at scale and empowering our customers to do the same. You’ll also be creating internal tooling for your teammates, keeping the feedback loop short and efficient!

We love infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated testing, high availability, horizontal scaling, the lot. We need people who don’t just stop after writing the feature and begin looking to the next project. We want that feature to be fully integrated into a testing and deployment pipeline, so that we always have confidence in the codebase, and know that we can rapidly redeploy at the drop of a hat.

This role is perfect for someone who is a self-starter and wants to manage their own projects. Someone who will relish in the freedom to work with the libraries and frameworks they think are right for the job. And someone who is passionate about modern technology and automation!

Your role in the team…

• Implement the automation of end-to-end deployment processes
• Assist in the development of systems and RESTful APIs that integrate customer systems with our internal management platform (for this we primarily use Go and Python)
• Improve system stability and resilience
• Complete and maintain Technical Documentation relating to the Infrastructure and DevOps responsibilities
• Adaptable to changing business requirements and projects as needed

What we need from you…

Must-haves

• Strong understanding of Python standard libraries and the core third party libraries (requests, etc)
• Used to working with microservices within Docker containers
• Understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns
• Strong API development skills (FastAPI is a bonus)
• Experience working with Agile development teams
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (linting, testing, coverage) and CI/CD
• Experience using relational and document based databases

Desirables

• Experience working in a DevOps environment
• Experience directing data with message queues (RabbitMQ is a bonus)
• Containerisation orchestration skills (Kubernetes is a bonus)
• Understanding of the importance of building software to be scalable

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £45,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
