Role Overview
The Machine Operator role is a general production position with lots of opportunity for career growth. This role is an integral part of AEM’s ability to manufacture exceptional avionics products for our clients. The Machine Operator I position involves the safe mechanical operations of select equipment used in the required mechanical fabrication process.
Key Responsibilities
Operates Datron CNC Router / Milling Machine
Sandblasts parts for Painting
Assembles parts prior to Painting
Operates vertical belt sander
Operates drill press
Follows maintenance schedule on equipment operated
Provides technical support for other AEM departments
Performs all duties per applicable quality program procedures.
Completes all other duties as per departmental requirements, including supporting other Production departments via transfer when required.
Success Factors
No education or experience required; training is provided in-house.
Knowledge of CNC operation is an asset.
Experience in mechanical assembly is an asset.
Knowledge and use of measuring equipment (i.e., Calipers, dial indicators, etc.) is an asset.
Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.
General experience with computers is required.
Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills.
Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time.
A strong work ethic with a positive approach to working with others.
