Position Summary
Responsible for leading, planning, directing, managing and evaluating all aspects of the school districts digital e-curriculum model and assessments for use in hybrid and virtual environments. Oversees the online curriculum platform and program of study that aligns all PreKindergarten-12 curricula to the state standards and assessments; integrates innovative instructional strategies to adapt and personalize learning. Leads our increased capacity to adopt and adapt Open Educational Resources (OER) for in the district. Works with Advance Studies & Programs to ensure alignment between content and program offices across the Division of Academics & Strategic Initiatives. Collaborates with multiple departments and schools to integrate a systemic and organizational curricular and assessment structure to eliminate gaps in student learning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provides leadership and management in the development, communication, and implementation of equitable system-wide curriculum, assessments, instructional strategies and practices.
2. Directs and coordinates the development and articulation of the middle and high school programs of studies.
3. Oversees curriculum alignment to national and local content standards, ensures each curriculum is aligned with the district’s Strategic Plan and goals.
4. Provides direction and supports offices within Academics and other departments to leverage technology programs, online learning opportunities and the utilization of the learning management system for teachers, students, and families.
5. Supervises and evaluates the performance of staff.
6. Leads content and program staff in a variety of areas such as vision/strategic planning, change management, budget management, curriculum, and assessment development; and leadership and team development.
7. Coaches staff and develops professional learning to increase teacher capacity with curriculum implementation and assessment development.
8. Supervises the review and evaluation of materials for instruction to align with curricular initiatives.
9. Oversees the development and management of federal, state and local grant-funded instructional programs.
10. Serves as a liaison to the community and other stakeholders to address curricular and assessment needs, interests and concerns.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
· Master’s degree in educational administration, supervision, or curriculum and instruction from a regionally accredited college or university.
Experience
· Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership/management experience in a public educational setting required; experience with managing a variety of programs and initiatives preferred.
· Five (5) years of successful teaching or related experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of educational accountability measures including federal mandates, and state and local assessments.
· Demonstrated expertise in systemic organizational thinking, organizational leadership, and change management.
· Ability to set priorities and supervise the work of others is essential.
· Knowledge of current trends and research in eliminating the achievement gap, school and curriculum innovation and reform and professional development delivery models.
· Excellent data analysis, curriculum design and development, pedagogy, assessment and online instructional design skills.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and provide excellent oral and written communication to diverse populations including students, teachers, administrators, staff, central office personnel, parents and the public.
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, creative problem solving, and self-motivation are necessary for success.
· Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred) and online learning programs.
Licenses/Certifications
· Hold or be eligible for a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) preferred.
· Hold or be eligible for a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Administrator I preferred.
· Possesses a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and have daily access to reliable transportation.

Pay: $96,572.00 – $192,554.00 per year
