We’re looking for a Night Shift Operations Manager to join our team!
The Night Shift Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of Animal Supply Company’s Distribution Center during the night shift. This role is critical in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining productivity, and delivering quality services or products while adhering to company standards and safety guidelines. The role involves managing the night shift team and collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals.

· Team Management: Supervise and lead the night shift team, with a high level of professionalism, including scheduling, performance management, training, and providing guidance to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
· Operations Oversight: Monitor and control night shift operations, ensuring all processes are carried out correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Performance Metrics: Track and analyze night shift performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize performance. Audit effectiveness and implement continuous improvement efforts to enhance performance and KPIs.
· Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards for products or services during the night shift, conducting regular inspections, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
· Training: Oversee training of new hires and existing teammates to ensure an efficient and knowledgeable workforce.
· Communication: Facilitate clear communication between the night shift team and other departments or management, ensuring that information is relayed accurately and in a timely manner.
· Problem-Solving: Address operational issues that arise during the night shift promptly and effectively, implementing solutions to minimize disruptions and downtime.
· Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment for night shift employees and visitors. Educate the workforce on safety practices and provide safety training. Seek opportunities to improve safety procedures, equipment, and policies. Coordinate the investigation of injuries, accidents, and unsafe conditions through the application of the company’s safety policies and procedures.
· Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels during the night shift, coordinating logistics and procurement to ensure adequate supplies are available.

Do you have the following qualifications?
· Leadership: Strong leadership and managerial skills to motivate and guide the night shift team effectively and with a high sense of urgency. Proven success in managing relationships, and effective negotiation skills, using a variety of techniques/strategies.
· Operations Acumen: Understanding of operations regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices. Ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, standards, and guidelines set forth by relevant authorities and industry best practices.
· Safety-Minded: Taking proactive steps to prevent accidents and injuries before they occur, such as implementing safety protocols, providing training, and conducting safety audits. Demonstrating a commitment to safety by consistently following safety protocols and encouraging others to do the same.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for relaying information clearly and concisely.
· Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
· Decision Making: Sound decision-making skills to make crucial judgments during the night shift. Effectively handle multiple, concurrent projects requiring judgment and initiative.
· Time Management: Effective time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver results.
· Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with diverse teams and foster a positive work environment.
· Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, business needs, and dynamic operations environment. Ability and willingness to work with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.
Your education & experience should be similar to:
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· 5+ years of proven experience in operations, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
· Strong knowledge of distribution networks, supply chain management, and logistics operations.
· Familiarity with operation management systems, warehouse equipment, handheld scanners, and other relevant technology tools.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office including an intermediate level of Excel expertise.
Working conditions:
· Distribution center environment during nighttime hours, which may include weekends and holidays.
· Variable temperatures indoors and outdoors, with exposure to noise and vibrations from warehouse equipment.
· Fast-paced and demanding work environment, requiring the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Be available via computer, video conferencing, and phone during the core schedule.
· Be able to work extended hours, based on business needs, and ability to address urgent matters.
