• Part-time (approx. 30 hours per fortnight), fixed term contract (up to 30 June 2022)
• Based at Hindmarsh and Kilkenny, with travel across metropolitan Adelaide
• Support and educate people about Aged Care services and help them access the services they need

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a professional, team focused individual who is passionate about helping others. The Aged Care Education & Information Officer will engage with various individuals, community groups and relevant aged care networks to educate and inform potential customers of the Aged Care system, its changing nature, assisting them to navigate the system and provide customers with information helping them choose the best aged care service for their situation.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Deliver timely and accurate information to Aboriginal people and their relatives seeking support to access Aged Care services
• Support and educate customers about the Aged Care system and the services available, enabling them to obtain the best service/s possible
• Work with your colleagues at AnglicareSA to educate and assist customers to gain access to government funded/subsidised Aged Care services.
• Coordinate engagement with customers as well as the general community such as service clubs, community groups and other organisations
• Deliver excellent customer service to customers and stakeholders

What do you need to bring?

• In accordance with AnglicareSA’s Aboriginal Employment Strategy and pursuant to s. 65 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 SA, and s. 8 of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975, applications are invited from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.
• Experience working with Aboriginal elders and established relationships within the Aboriginal community
• Australian drivers licence and roadworthy insured vehicle (for which you will be reimbursed for work related travel)
• Strong communication skills
• Tertiary qualification in either Health Science, Community Development, Community Services, Social Sciences or equivalent will be highly regarded
