Are you a self-starter with an inquiring mind and enjoy seeking out new and relevant stories? Do you have experience of writing, developing and creating content? This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our Brand and Communications Team!

We are seeking an experienced PR professional to work across all of our Anglian Water business units to proactively uncover stories of interest to customers and stakeholders and identify opportunities to tell those stories across a variety of channels. Using your previous experience of gathering different types of multimedia content, you’ll identify opportunities to generate positive media coverage for AW and its partner organisations.

As an active member of the press office, dealing with proactive and reactive media enquiries, you’ll also be inquisitive and will work across all of Anglian Water’s business units to proactively discover the right responses to accurately, clearly and confidently communicate Anglian Water’s position to the media, and act as a spokesperson for the business.

You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to be a source of intelligence, information and advice on communications and the external media landscape for the business. You’ll also provide advice to other areas of the business on good communications practice, supporting the wider work of the Brand and Communications Team.

What does it take to be a PR and Media Executive?

• Exceptional writing and communication skills

• Previous PR and communications experience

• Experience of working in a busy press office, preferably in an issues-rich and customer focussed environment

• Graduate calibre individual who is keen and enthusiastic to learn, Relevant experience of working with the traditional and new media

• Previous experience in gathering different types of multimedia content (video and photography) and use of editing software

• Experience of seeking out relevant stories from around a complex business and translating these into engaging communications for customers and other stakeholders across a variety of different channels

• Experience of the interplay between traditional and social media, preferably in a customer / consumer focused environment

• You’ll be a self-starter with an inquiring mind with a keen interest in current affairs and the media
