Andy & Evan Industries, Inc. Hiring for Associate Technical Designer at New York, New York Full Time

A well-known childrenwear brand located in New York City seeks a highly organized and motivated full-time Associate Technical Designer, reporting directly to our highly experienced Technical Design Director. The candidate must work well as part of a team, have great communication skills, and keep to a technical design calendar and deadlines.  This position is available immediately in person at our NYC office.

Candidate will be working on Boy’s/Girls Outerwear, Swimwear, Sporstwear. Product line is sold to major department stores, specialty, discount, and club stores. 

Responsibilities Include: 

-Maintaining daily correspondence with factories, answering questions to solve spec and fit issues.

-Maintain uniform size/blocks in sizes 0-24M, 2T-7, and 8-20.

-Following time and action and WIP to push suppliers for first fit samples as soon as the PO is issued.

-Conducting fittings with design to review garment construction and fit on SMS and production styles.

-Advise fit sample comments to vendors

-Communicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches /pattern corrections

-Assist in organizing and prioritizing workload to meet all deadlines.

-Keeping a library of specs organized by factory & by similar styles.

-Responsible for Creating Care Label Layout spec for production styles.

Qualifications:

-Good time management and strong organizational skills

-Ability to multi-task

-Minimum 3-5 years Technical Design experience, Kids experience preferred

-Undergraduate degree.

-Computer Skills

-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel a must
